My Dad got stabbed twice, once in about 89, once in 2003. Knife crime isn’t new in the UK, it’s been a problem for years, it’s got way more attention and the scale is worse. But remember, Damilola Taylor, or Steven Lawrence.. these high profile stabbings.. they happened decades ago at this point. Everyone saying “give the kids stuff to do” is well intentioned but naive. There is always gonna be a section of society that chooses to behave in a certain way, you gotta get violent offenders of the streets, long sentences and start to get those bad actors out of their communities.
